For anyone who thought “GOEO”* was a ridiculous-sounding acronym for a government agency that wants to be taken seriously, we’ve got good news:
Thanks to HB 475, effective May 6, 2026,† the name has been changed BACK to the “Governor’s Office of Economic Development.”
This has no effect, in any way, shape, or form, on the ridiculous things their staff has done—according to their own public records.
